A couple days ago, we were proud to get our very first Cochin Egg! We have 3 LFC hens and 1 LFC roo and 1 BBC hen. They are almost 7 months old, so we were like "Its about time!". Now as laying picks up (We've gotten 3 or 4 eggs so far) we can start to sell them for hatching eggs and chicks! The way we do this is we figure out what colors people want and use our breeding coop to monitor which eggs come from who, so we normally put just a pair in at a time. Looking forward to having more fuzzy footed peepers in the spring!

This is the notorious rooster, Jasper. He is a Red Sexlink that I rescued almost two years ago. He has the most personality any animal could have. If you're on BYC, you definately know him. You'll be hearing alot about him on my blog and I guarantee you that if you don't know who he is know, you'll definately know him soon! :D
A friend of mine on BYC is entered in the Cooper Boone tree decorating contest and I need you guys to vote for her! You can vote once a day. She is Kathy M and her tree is #35. It is made of her handmade egg ornaments. Please vote for her tree to support her and keeping Backyard Chickens everywhere! A vote for the egg tree is a vote for chickens! www.cooperboone.com/eat.contest
